International liquidity line created by the International Monetary Fund to replace the gold standard. It is an accounting payment medium granted to each member country, consisting of a basket of currencies that includes the dollar, euro, sterling pound, Japanese yen, and, for an undetermined period, the Chinese yuan. In situations of low liquidity, a country can exchange its SDRs for the currency it needs.
